Akio, a meek high school student, and Kanako, an older woman who owns a used book store, meet by chance through their love of books. With each encounter, Kanako begins to feel more strongly that Akio is her "soul mate," and one day proposes to him by accident. Akio is taken aback at first, but soon falls for her charm.
